In the 1970
Typhoon encountered in the Tonkin Gulf off Vietnam, Kawishiwi had
topped off all SAR/PIREZ destroyers and was nearly empty.
Rolls as detailed left and below did
happen and created an almost impossible ride. See Story

Rolls depicted
like these at 30 or 40 degress were nearly
impossible, when
Kawishiwi was full . Winds
would not create this, only bad ship
positioning with freak 100 foot waves can do it.
