Weapons for the Navy Seals
A multidiscipline consultant team for design and construction works in this new 59,000 SF facility to house operational maintenance, training and administrative functions for 12 of the Navy's newest high speed vessels.  The North Island location was designed to allow rapid mobilization and transport of these vessel worldwide.  The facility provides non-depot level maintenance of rolling stock and depot level maintenance of the MK V SOC vessels.  In addition to maintenance and supply/spare parts warehousing facilities, on-site administration and training facilities with classrooms and briefing areas were provided.

On the right side of this image you see three units being pushed out of the complex gate.

Final design documents included a new 115' by 37' U-shaped, reinforced concrete pier, 60' long concrete floating docks to berth five vessels, and an ADA compliant gangway.  Special design requirements for the pier included the capability to support the combined load of a 50-ton MK V SOC vessel and a 70-ton marine travel lift used to lift the vessels out of the water and transport them to the maintenance facility.

The aft deck image of a Mark V displays four weapons stations built in. On the statbord side are two .50-caliber heavy machine guns, and on the port side are two MK19 40mm machine grenade launchers. A combat rubber raiding craft )CRRC), or Zodiac, sits poised on the rear deck, which is slanted to facilitate launch and recovery during infiltration and extraction operations. Individual seating is provided.

Amphibious Training occurs on the Silver Strand area south of North Island.
