MOTHBALL FLEET


Thirteen piers were constructed along the west bank of the St. Johns River to house some 600 vessels.
The ships were primarily destroyers, destroyer escorts and fleet auxiliaries.

Today the piers are used for building and/or repairing boats.

The subject company here is

In this year of 2012, the tugs are towing retired navy ships from
 the reserve fleet "Suisun Bay", California.

In March the tow was "USS MISPILLION AO-105"
In April the tow is "SS CAPE AMBASSADOR"

Daily Reports are very interesting.
In May the contract is the Historic "USS GLACIER WABG-4"
They travel the PANAMA CANAL

But their home is by the Springs of North East Florida.
