Rhea and Elsbeth III   -   Off El Salvador

...
A SHIP SCRAPPING  DRAMA
...

The two sister tugs met in the early morning light of
August 18, 2013 at 0445 Central time.
Tug Rhea's crew, being on a long voyage, was happy to see fellow crew members,
get some news and "care packages".
The Wind was ENE 5-8 kts and Seas 3-4 ft.  4ft. swell.

Tug Rhea is towing the USS Shasta AE-33 from Hawaii to Texas.
Tug Elsbeth III (E3) is enroute to San Francisco to Tow USS Mount Hood AE-11 to Texas.
But - there is another tug, a few miles ahead of tug Rhea. We don't know where she is.
Tug Simone is towing the USS Holland AS-32 from the Bay area to Texas.
THEY DEAD SHIPS IN TOW, WILL ALL BE SCRAPPED IN TEXAS!

It is the reports from the Tug crews like this
that are so rewarding to this webmaster.
"Debbie and Patrick spotted a killer whale jumping next to tug, also we steamed through a
large school of tuna with no luck. Chile loves seeing all the birds diving into the schools for bait fish.
Lots of turtles paired up, must be mating season. "
