Challenge Coin from USS Bunker Hill (CG52)
The coin is about the size of a Silver Dollar.
Vern received this coin from the Commander of USS Bunker Hill (CG52); Captain Charles M. Gaouette USN,
after Vern sent the Capt. his book; "Navy Super Tankers" and an accompanied CD. It will be a lasting treasure.




 
Challenge coins represent a tight bond between members of military units, build team spirit, preserve unity and encourage stronger ties.
Their use originated during World War I.
