LONG BEACH RESERVE FLEET - 1950's
The majority of the ships reserved were Mine Sweepers which were at pier 15 the current FFS ships shown above.

Ships placed in reserve here included: USS Menard APA-201 ; USS Clamp ARS-33; USS Dionysus AR-21;
possibly USS YMS-328 because she is still in Long Beach as John Wayne's BLUE GOOSE.

SHIPS RECOMMISSIONED __ Three Navy minesweepers were recommissioned yesterday at ceremonies held at the Naval base here. the vessels are shown above with their crews standing at attention as Capt. wayne N. Gamet, USN commander of the Long Beach Group, Pacific Reserve Fleet, recommissioned the vessels. Rear Adm. Thomas R. My ship, USS Kawishiwi AO-146 was drydocked in Dock No.1 Jan. 28, 1957 and she SANK TUG - YTB-266 before entering.
This 1993 image shows Dry Dock No.1 in the center with a USS Ranger CV-61 carrier in it.
