BALTIMORE READY RESERVE FORCE Baltimore, Maryland
......................................................................................................................
Baltimore is one of our very historical cities so this page will point
out some of that history. The Patapsco River flows into the area from
the west and into the Chesapeake Bay. Following the shore line,
The "Cromwell Street RRF" is
incounterd. Then "FORT McHENRY"; The Birth Place
of our FLAG SONG. Continuing, the shore
line turns north into the NW Branch of the river to the "Fort Street RRF".
The Inner Harbor is where the "USS CONSTELLATION" is moored. Just north, across the street, in 1852 there was WHIG meeting. This web page author's 4th Generation Grand Father, Conrad Sheckler a Justice of the Peace , was at that meeting and met "General Winfield Scott". Read Conrad's "DIARY". The Coast Guard Cutter 'TANEY" is memorialized a couple piers east of the Constellation. A reunion was attended on board by veteran Pete Fayette, a close friend of this webmaster. The 3rd Ready Reserve Fleet is located at a Clinton St. Pier. |
