RESCUE VESSELS. Constructed as a twin hull
catamaran by the Alabama
Drydock & Shipbuilding Co. of Mobile,
Alabama. USS Pigeon is designed with the most advanced and
comprehensive facilities for submarine rescue, mixed saturation diving
and deep ocean salvage. Commissioned on 28 April 1973. They are Guardians
of Every Submariner. |
