23–24 Aug 1990: Saratoga relieved Dwight D. Eisenhower of her Red Sea watch, enabling the carrier to steam northward
and pass through the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean. The latter's aircrew had logged 2,833 flight hours during Desert Shield.
