COMMANDER BRIAN L. DAVIES UNITED STATES NAVY<> > Commander
Brian Davies was born in Wilmington, Delaware. He was
commissioned in 1991 After graduating
with a Bachelors of Science in Ocean Engineering from The United States
Naval
Academy. Following graduation, Commander
Davies attended The Pennsylvania State University as part of the
Immediate
Graduate Education Program and he completed his Masters of Science in
Acoustics
in 1993. In 1994, Commander Davies reported to USS HYMAN G. RICKOVER (SSN 709) following his initial nuclear power training. Onboard USS HYMAN G. RICKOVER, Commander Davies held multiple Division Officer assignments that included Reactor Control Assistant, Main Propulsion Assistant, Chemistry/Radiological Control Assistant, and Damage Control Assistant. In October 1997, Commander Davies reported to Naval Submarine School in Groton, Connecticut, where he served as an instructor for multiple courses including SOAC and SOBC. NEBRASKA (SSBN 739) (BLUE) as Engineer Officer from
July 1999 until October 2002. Commander
Davies then transferred to Commander Submarine Development Squadron
FIVE where
he served as OIC of Detachment Bangor and the Squadron Engineer. From September 2004 until May 2006, Commander Davies served as the Executive Officer onboard USS HOUSTON (SSN 713) during which the ship completed an Engineered Refueling Overhaul, change of homeport to the Forward Deployed Naval Forces in Guam, and a Guam Mission Cycle. <> Upon completion of his Executive Officer tour, Commander Davies was assigned to the Bureau of Naval Personnel as the Submarine Officer Distribution Branch Head and XO/Post-XO Detailer. >Commander Davies' personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards). Commander Davies is married to the former Kimberley Curlett Hickey, and has one child, Caitlin. |
