Virgil
Jeffrey could not make the reunion because his grandson was supposed to
be operated on the first of August. Jane, who is Virgils daughter lives
10
minutes from where the ship is docked. We went out on a boat with
Virgil
and took some pictures of the ships. We got really close till the
harbor
patrol told us to get out. We were all soak-in-wet. We already had
reservations for a condo in Lake Tahoe. So when we got there Virgil
called Frank Shields cause he knew he lived in Reno, so he gave
him a call and Frank came over.and they talked for hours. It was really
nice to met someone who was on the ship with my dad. So after 51 years
these two are gibbering like old ladies. Sorry we missed the reunion.
We
had hoped to meet you. I hope you can put these pictures of Virgil and
Frank (photo left) on the web site, or the ships. Dad said the
Missipillion was #2
