Tug Scorpius
follows on starboard of the tow in this photo was snapped
by Captain
Patrick Moloney, (now master of SS
Jeremiah O'brien moored at pier 45 at Fisherman's Wharf ) who
remembers his days as 2nd mate on MISPILLION from Apr 79 for 6 months.
In Oct he fleeted up
to Cargo Trainee (his first Officer job - three stripes, and the pay to
go
with it). Spent almost 3 months doing that. Was at Mombasa,
Kenya with the
MIDWAY Battlegroup when the hostages were snatched in Iran and everyone
went to
war footing in the I.O. It has stayed that way ever since. |
