| One day out of Pearl Harbor, at the end of a successful cruise, we met with the USS Monticello LSD-35, bearing zero yards on the starboard quarter. LTJG. Hirschler was topside when it happened, thinking it was aiming right at us. Luckily damages were not serious and there were no injuries.
