These 14 enlisted men are the gunnery division.  It is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the six 3"/50 cal. gun mounts, the four gun fire control systems, the magazines, and other below deck gunnery space.

For a ship who's primary mission is replenishment at sea, Kawishiwi boasts one of the most modern and capable gun fire control systems in the fleet today. With increased speeds of today's modern attack aircraft, the ability of a ship to defend itself is largely dependent upon target systems which can not only contact and evaluate a target, but which can accurately guide a mount into position so as to acheive maximum use of a round once it is fired. To do this, modern and sophisticated radar systems aboard ship, operated by fire control technicians of Fox Division, position rapid-fire mounts exactly, and accurately give solutions to high speed targets instantaneously and continually. It is a complex job, and a job they do well.
