I did see the KAWISHIWI in San Diego during the 90s ... as a T-AO ... but never did get aboard.

Currently with NASSCO, I am
supervising the preparation of the ship-unique technical manuals
for new T-AKE Class ships
The National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) is in San Diego.  I was in charge of the crew familiarization for the four AOE-6 Class ships we built in the '90s ... also supervised the preparation of the ship-unique technical manuals.  Am now doing the same thing for the new T-AKE Class ships ... we expect to build eleven of them over the next 8-9 years.  So my days on KAWISHIWI have helped some in my current job ...

I made it to the commissioning of the USS SUPPLY ... it commissioned at North Island here in SD ... and had about half of the senior Supply Officers in the Navy there I think !

The Lewis and Clark (T-AKE-1) is scheduled to have it's keel laid early next year ... and deliver in the spring of 2005.
