- Arrival and check in:
Afternoon of October 8th.
- Reunion reception to start between 4-5pm
on Monday night in the Pullman Grill
(Main Street Station ground Floor). White and red wine along with a
pupu
platter.
- Note: There can be a large screen TV set
up for Monday Night Football and if
the numbers are correct this can become a buffet/dinner event or remain
wine
and reception with pupu's with another close by (777 Restaurant)
reserving an
area for 20-30+ for dinner and Monday Night football and games.
-
Tuesday morning,
10/9-Kawishiwi "SLOT TOURNAMENT"
from
9am-10am. Cost to enter wil be either $10 or $15 with 100% of the money
collected going to probably top 3 and bottom totals. Need close to 30.
if mroe
sign up than we will have a second 20 minute session at 9;:30am.
Depending on
how many sign up The winners could pocket $200-$450. I will work out
the
specifics.
Tuesday
later morning (can also be Wednesday) we will walk up to the MOB MUSEUM
(3 blocks) and do a tour. Cost will be around $15 a person.
-
Tuesday afternoon and
evening will be left up to each shipmate, but there will
be lot's to do if they decide to go out.
-
Wednesday morning we
will have another 9am-10am Slot Tourney
also held at the
Main Street Station. I am looking into a bus
tour that day to Hoover Dam, but not yet set up. I have
in the past used personal cars like what you did in Bremerton to the
Sub Museum
and I think that would also be best in Las Vegas as 5-6 cars in a pool
would be
easy. We could also do a chocolate factory tour on the way back.
-
Thursday daytime is
open with the Kawishiwi banquet being scheduled between 6pm
and 10pm in the same Pullman Grill as our Monday night Reception so it
will be
easy to find--just minutes from all rooms. I am leaning towards a
buffet and
want a price less than $40.
-
Friday is departure day
and I am leaning towards a breakfast/buffet in the Main
Street Station where we can have an area just for us and a great
breakfast
buffet with individual omelet's and great food. Cost will be about
$6-$7. exact
costs later.
Parking is easy and
free. I expect a lot of people to drive and not fly in.
With cars we can car pool out to Hoover damn. Transportation from the
airport
is economical and it is door to door and cost is like $8-$9 each way.
I want
to leave chunks of space for people to simply hang out in the
hospitality
suite which will be a large suite where we can have a neat bathtub with
ice and
lot's of soda, beer/etc. This large hospitality suite will be at the
California
where I expect most people to stay and we will set up certain people to
watch
that and keep it open at least 8am-8pm from Monday through Friday
morning.
People
will deal directly with the hotel's reservation department for their
rooms and payments--we will have nothing to do with that. $180 + taxes
for the
week is a real deal.
Certain
rooms can handle special needs if needed (ADA/refrigerators for
medicine/etc.)
The
California Hotel has a pool which people can use in October when the
temperatures are still around 85-90+- degrees.
