USS Kawishiwi AO-146 - 10th Annual Reunion
was held on
September 11, 12 and 13 - 2003

at the Hacienda Hotel & Casino - Boulder City, Nevada

11th...		 After checking in, we relaxed from our trips, visited with very old friends, and  filled ourselfs with Snacks and Beverages.

After breakfast in the hotel restaurant we met in the lobby and took a bus to tour the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, all near the hotel. After a short visit at the park visitor center we made the paddle boat tour on Lake Mead to view Hoover Dam from the lake side and also the colorful hills of Arizona. Lunch was provided on the boat.

The bus then transported us back by the hotel, to Hoover Dam tourist center. There we toured as each desired. We then rested for our evening tour.

About 1900 we boarded another tour bus heading for Las Vegas under the command of BUD. He was a great talker, gave us the real history of the area.  We drove the full length of the strip, stopping at the Bellagio Hotel to view the Dancing Waters Show; then see the display of 2,000 hand-blown glass flowers created by renowned artist, Dale Chihuly. In the gardens, off the lobby, some viewed the Liberty Bell replica. Moving on, so fast that we left 4 persons behind who did catch up, we used the remainder of the trip time at the Fremont Street Experience to see a great light show. They had music that was too loud for most of us though. Two of us learned that photos are not permited in casinos but managed to keep our photos.

...		 A shopping trip had been planned for the day but very few signed up and everybody did as they wished.

At 7:00 p.m. a delicious meal was served at the Boulder City Elk's Club after which photos were taken of the group, men first then women.
Gifts were handed out to each by drawing tickets that all held, one by one. Each had to display their chosen gift and if desired, took a gift from a person who previously picked a gift. It became a fun battle as some persons wanted that "CUP" or "SALMON" or "COWBOY".

Business meeting was short, announcing the 2004 reunion in Mobil, AL.

Several items were auctioned of by Terry Baker, and the reunion was closed.
