"A word on the Gun
Shots"
We live in a pretty nice
neighborhood called " Desert Shadows", and we've been here for 30
years.
Once in a long while we hear some gun shots in the area, but all in
all, we're happy here. (See
map above)The BAD area is what many call " Little Mexico", or Mission Manor neighborhood, about 4-5 miles from us, during the day, that area is o.k., but once night hits, it's a good idea to stay away, even when driving through it, not to mention walking in it!!

. The open pit is
approx. one mile across E/W and about a mile and a half long, N/S,
The "pond" you see at the botom of the pit is approx. 1,000 ft. long
and 300-400 ft. wide, and 150 ft. deep.
The bottom of the pit is now approx. 1,500 ft. deep; perception
is very deceiving in this pic, though.
The company is constantly pumping water out of the pond.
