THIS PHONE WILL GO IN THE COLD WAR MUSEUM

The PILOT HOUSE Telephone!
of the
USS KAWISHIWI AO-146

Vern has the "PILOT HOUSE" telephone in his TELEPHONE COLLECTION at his home.

In this photo, the hand set is in the "OFF HOOK" position.
The aluminum rest for this position looks like a navy invention. :)
This makes a lot of sense ;
making it easy to hand off a call to the person intended.

The Telephone was sent to Vern in October of 2013 by
Captain Patrick Moloney, Master of Kawishiwi in 1989.

See the  2011 phone LOCATION.
and the SHIPS PHONE BOOK.

This page color is the same as the ships bulkhead that the phone is mounted on.

The hand set reveals that this is a "STROMBERG-CARLSON" manufactured phone.

Internal View - of this 554 model wall set.
the cap is off the dial back, I had just oiled it.
