I
joined the United States Navy in
December of 1974 and
was honorably discharged in December of 1978. I can prove it. I spent a
tour of duty on the USS Kawishiwi AO146 home ported out of Pearl
Harbor. This ship was an ‘oiler’, our job was to refuel the fleet at
sea. During my tour-of-duty, I made two West Pacific Cruises. My ship
was deployed to Singapore, Philippines, Korea, Japan, Guam, Hong Kong,
as well as supported the fleet off the coast of Viet Nam. I crossed the
equator and participated in the initiation process, which makes me a
‘Shellback’. |
