Hank was able to put Kawishiw's history
together because he had access to extra copies which he could keep for
his personal use. He had been assigned to "X" Division when he
came aboard in September 1963. Since he had worked with the Public
Affairs Office (PAO) at his last command, he was asked to assist the
ship's PAO officer on occasion, giving him access to the history.
