His family wrote:On February 16, 2006, dad, Buster Couch,
SF1, A Division
66-68, passed away after a short illness. He was very proud of
his service aboard the Kawishiwi and of his 21 years in the
Navy. He always displayed his plaques in his home proudly.
The gentlemen of the Hazard KY Disabled Veterans Chapter provided dad
with a very nice military service. Dad never attended any of the
reunions, but I always felt he wanted to. Please make sure his
name is posted on the DECEASED PAGE. Dad would really love to be
honored and remembered that way.
To
Dad, heaven would have been taking another cruise to the
Pacific or perhaps boarding a cutter for another trip near
the Pole.
