April 5; A REAL RED LETTER DAY in Dixie Sta. off Cape St. Jacque.
BONGO - ALAMO's stern swung in to about 20 feet.
Collision in our starboard bow, frame 39.
April 5; Abandoned Starboard side of Bridge.
We cleared USS Princeton LPH-5.
April 5; Our UNREP.s men performed outstandingly.
USS Alamo LSD-33 tried again with success.
April 5; Saftey valve popped on No.2 boiler and drained it.
April 5 -6; USS Lowe DE-325 reported shaft out, unable to rondesvue.
Just off Cuo Lao Hau Island (spell?) when generators tripped again.
April 6; Chief Engineer and fire room gange have just about collapsed
from efforts to keep our water supply up.
Our Damage is spread around.
