Served aboard the USS Kawishiwi AO146.
from July 14, 1968 - Aug. 6th, 1970 

I was in the Engineering Department as a Machinist Mate (FA).  I met the Kawishiwi in Subic Bay.  Became Engineering Office Yeoman (logroom) from M Division around Sept. 1968. 

Departed Kawishiwi as a DMSN (Illustrated Draftsman Seaman) on  to be stationed at Naval Station, D.C. and worked at the Pentagon for The Defense Intelligence Agency.  Discharged as DM3 from D.C. on Dec. 29, 1971

After posting Tom's Art on the 69 Cruise book page, Tom made these remarks. "It's a shame, but I didn't remember some of those sketches (the cartoons).  I never got a cruise book. I down loaded them for my files.  But none the less, I appreciate the addition.  I've been amazed as to the e-mails I've received from shipmates." 11-13-2
