I remember my crossing of the equator,  We took the Kawishiwi back to San Diego for the first time since she was assigned to Pearl.  I can't remember why we took her back, but I remember it was a strange route.  We were one of the two trips to American Samoa.  I remember we called "Pago Pago"; "Pango Pango."  We made the equator crossing during that cruise.

I was on the Kawishiwi Basketball Team and Kawishiwi Canoe Team .  We were the first team to represent the military in the Kamehameha Day around Oahu canoe race. 
By the way I'm in the Kamehameha Day parade coming up in the last week of May, but this time I'm riding in a Pa'U unit.  Fancy name for cowboys.  Handling a horse in a parade should be fun.
