Ed first served on USS Salem CA-139 1953 -- -1955

2009: Two other officers from Kawishiwi, LTJG R.L. MacLeod and
LTJG B.C. Neumann and Ed; all live near each other in Florida.
2011: The "3 Caballeros" meet at an Oktoberfest.

Ed's daughter Alyssa married James Crilley who is related to MEDAL OF HONOR recipient Frank William Crilley, a Navy Diver on Salvage of USS-F4.

Ed suggests a special event be organized for "PLANK OWNERS"

Ed recently visited his old ship, USS Salem in Quincy, MA with his grand children and had great fun. He says CA has much more to see as a museum than a DD.
