three types of ships
built during the 1950's & 1970's.
Four new carriers
had the 1st
launchers to put jet planes into the air. Thirty-one Destroyers had the
1st gas turbine engines to gain great speeds. Six Oilers
were designed to service a full task force wherein the 1st probes and
ram-tension rigs were developed to provide better and saver underway
at sea. These ships are now all out service.
Those 31 destroyers
disposed of, except one. The oilers are all out of service with half of
disposed of. The developments gained with these ships need to be
just like the 1st space ships.
Associations have had their dreams crushed over and over while
to have ships turned into museums.
Wouldn't it be great if the remaining moneys from all of these groups were combined and put forward in a proposal to create a museum? With the use of models, the museum could even be animated while describing the developments gained over the last 40-50 years.
If models, of the
three types of ships described above, were
created in minature, like a airport in GERMANY. A
scaled down launcher could display how it works. A
refueling probe could do the same. Even Tomahawk missiles could be
from the destroyer. The ships could be large enough for persons to walk
the between the ships on floors painted to look like they were walking
on water. Germany creates cool
exhibits, why not us.
museum could be in INDEPENDENCE MISSOURI
