The image above points out three devices .
"A" AUXILIARY CONDENSER, used for?
                             Devices beneath, L/R circ pump, steam prime mover, aux condensate pump.

"B" STEAM DOMESTIC HOT WATER HEATER, used for?
"C" ELECTRIC HOT WATER HEATER, used for?
"D" STBD Fuel Oil SETTLER, See NOTE 1 The vertical ladder goes to top of settler.
"FAN" The fan motor looks like it is reciprocating[steam prime mover].
"SALT WATER CONVERTER" is located on the port side in the same position as Auxiliary Condenser "A".

NOTE  1: Fuel oil is carried in the inner bottom tanks (just above the keel) and SETTLING TANKS are located port and starboard
 of the machinery space (settling tanks are used to allow impurities in the fuel, such as water, to settle out before the fuel is used).
Oil (either cargo or fuel) can also be carried in deep tank number three, which was located just aft of the machinery space.
