Adair crew members acquired their boot training in many camps around U.S. At least one member received it here. He was Louis R. Helsel and he remembers it well. After boot he was assigned to Bainbridge Maryland for gunnery school and then to Fort Pierce, Florida in preparation for duty on PA91-15 in the Pacific.
